What is Westminster Car Club?

The City of Westminster has partnered with Zipcar to give residents and businesses self-service access to vehicles located throughout the City. Just reserve online, unlock with your membership card and drive. Low hourly and daily rates always include petrol, insurance and congestion charge. Members are also entitled to one free hour of on-street parking in the City of Westminster with every reservation.

Where are the cars located?

Vehicles are parked in on-street locations throughout the city. We'll be adding more and more cars throughout the summer, with 100+ by year's end. And by 2012, we plan to have 400 vehicles in the City of Westminster. Find cars near you.

What are the community benefits?

Each car club vehicle introduced into local communities takes 15-20 vehicles off the road, reducing congestion, emissions and parking demand. And according to a 2008 survey conducted by Zipcar, drivers who use car club vehicles as an alternative to ownership ultimately spend less time behind the wheel, opting to walk, bike and use public transit.

How do I obtain my free hour of parking?

All Westminster Car Club members are entitled to one hour's free parking each time you park in any on-street paid for bay in Westminster. An initial payment for parking must be made before the free hour is granted. This can be for as little as one minute. If the time paid for has expired by more than one hour, you must either top up your parking session (up to the maximum stay) or move the vehicle to another bay, otherwise you will liable for a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN). Can I reserve cars outside of Westminster?

Yes, Westminster Car Club members can also reserve Zipcars parked all over London. Even better—you have access to Zipcars in 28 North American states and provinces!
